The Vocal Process eZINE lifts the lid
Back from the holiday, and it was very good!
Two weeks in Ireland - one at Inchydoney Spa and Hotel (Ireland's prizewinning spa hotel in County Cork), and a week on the Dingle peninsula in a farmhouse. Stunning weather, huge empty beaches, and a wonderful spa for the first week. Doesn't get much better than that.
As you may have gathered, I like my luxuries. I'm one of those sad people who actually want to do cruises. I've never worked on a cruise (never quite met the right people) but I like the idea of sitting on the balcony (only a balcony suite for me of course) watching the world go by, and doing the odd concert here and there. Incidentally, if anyone is looking for an amazingly good accompanist to take on a cruise with them, just drop me an email...
Things are moving at Vocal Process. Our PA Allison is a freelancer, and one of her "other" jobs is to fix Amy Winehouse's band. Anyway, the agents have offered her a great full-time job so she's leaving us. Allison has been with us for almost exactly a year, and we wish her well with the new work.
Which left us to find a new PA at very short notice! We put an ad in Gumtree and had more than 70 responses. Lots of people want to work for Vocal Process!
We had a shortlist of seven (yes, we actually read all the emails), and the first person to interview was Tawny. She started this week and we think she's going to fit in really well.
I'll be publishing a photo of Tawny in the next edition of the Vocal Process eZINE so you can put a face to the name.
If you aren't signed up for the Vocal Process eZINE, I can recommend it. We're on edition 30 at the moment, and the eZINE is packed with reports, news, pictures and interviews. The current edition has a great interview with Kim Chandler, session singer extraordinaire, who lifts the lid on the art of session singing. It was such a great interview that I've kept half of it back for the next edition!
To sign up (and we won't bombard you with spam or pass you details on to anyone else), just visit the Vocal Process homepage and click on the new bouncing eZINE box (yes, really).
More on the eZINE in a later post.
